SUMMARY:18 Plus Weekend 19-21st February 2027
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Purley Chase for a weekend aimed at young adults aged 18 and above. SUMMARY:The Still Centre
DESCRIPTION:When you enter a place of stillness\, you awaken the divinity within you.― Peggy Sealfon \nThis weekend is an opportunity to step back from our busy lifestyles and chaotic world to regain balance and harmony. \nOur outer mind can be full of the pull and needs of everyday life. It could be likened to a weathervane constantly turning to focus on the next issue to be faced. Where is serenity and inner peace? \nThe Dag Hammarskjold quote below speaks of climbing a mountain seeking something beyond or above the bustle and mind chatter. Is it something higher or deeper … or both? Deep within us we can find a still centre that raises our perspective and breaks the chain that keeps us preoccupied with the clamour of what is outer and empty. \nI am being driven forward into an unknown land. The pass grows steeper\, the air colder and sharper.A wind from my unknown goal stirs the strings of expectation.Still the question: shall I ever get there? There were life resounds\, A pure clear note in the silence. \nOur weekend will include talks\, sharing\, activities\, mindfulness\, spaces for reflection and healing. \nLeaders: Helen Newton is an experienced group leader and facilitator. She is a One Spirit Interfaith minister\, counsellor\, circle dance teacher\, celebrant and healer \nCarole Lacy is a trained teacher of evidence-based mindfulness courses. She is a listed teacher with the British Association for Mindfulness- Based Approaches and abides by their Good practice Guidelines \nHelen Brown is a retired Jungian therapist and minister in the Swedenborgian Church. She is an experienced group and workshop facilitator \nCosts: Ensuite Adults – £167Standard Adults – £146 \nBOOK NOW or telephone 01827 712 370 or email enquiries@purleychasecentre.org.uk or in person 10-3pm 7 days. When booking please advise us of any special dietary requirements or allergies.

SUMMARY:Dancing the Tree of Life
DESCRIPTION:The Tree of Life is a powerful symbol found in many myths\, cultures and religions. You may be familiar with the Tree of Life in the centre of the Garden of Eden in the Biblical creation story; offering eternal life. In the Celtic tradition it acts as a bridge between the physical and spiritual world. In Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah)\, it is a diagram showing how The Divine interacts with the world.Through our dancing we will aim to connect with this powerful tree symbol\, exploring our roots\, our trunk\, our branches and leaves and our transformation into blossoming and fruiting. We will hold the concept of this eternal life within each of us\, which encourages new growth and transformation. Some experience of circle dancing is helpful but not essential as all the dance steps are taught. We aim to create an open\, sacred circle.Interspersed with our dancing will be sharing on the theme\, in small groups. Saturday afternoon is free time followed by an optional session where anyone can request or share a favourite dance.Saturday evening there will be the option of a creative craft activity linked to our Tree of Life theme plus a relaxation led by Helen to send us off to bed sleepy. On the Sunday morning\, we bring the dances we have learnt\, together with short readings & meditations\, to create a sacred act of universal worship. Helen and Marion look forward to dancing and sharing with you. \nLeaders:Marion Curry has loved moving\, and being moved\, in a dancing circle for very many years. She has led a regular group in Bournemouth for 26 years\, during which time she completed some inspirational teacher training. Coming from a musical background\, she is keenly aware of rhythm and flow of melodic phrases. Marion encourages the group to collectively invite a sense of sacredness into the dancing whilst affirming the Divine Source of energy.Helen Brown is a retired Jungian therapist and minister in the Swedenborgian Church. She is an experienced group and workshop facilitator \nCost: Ensuite Adult £186\, Standard Adult £165 per person \nBOOK NOW or telephone 01827 712 370 or email enquiries@purleychasecentre.org.uk or in person 10-3pm 7 days. When booking please advise us of any special dietary requirements or allergies.
